If you’re a ‘dedicated follower of fashion’ then you’ll be familiar with Carine Roitfeld and her individual style.  This former Vogue Paris editor is decidedly sexy in that ‘oh so cool’ French way.

Her key to looking chic and glamorous is knowing what looks good on her and being comfortable in what she is wearing. She likes a consistent style that is all about pencil skirts and heels .   Add a humorous twist, and voila – uber panache!  We have to agree.

A lover of the classic shirt, she can look both polished and nonchalant in a stylish and carefree way.  Trends which she considers ‘a game’ are not for her.  She feels it’s more important to take a focussed approach to fashion that’s underlined by having a strong sense of your true character.

Carine Roitfeld works her age (63) to advantage.   At a time when most women are seeking eternal youth, she is not afraid to embrace her lines and play up her eyes with a smudgy make up finish, framed with messy hair that adds youthfulness to her look.  Her key message is not to look like you’ve tried too hard. You have to love the result – it’s insouciant and so very chic.

Her style advice: ‘Find something you like about your appearance and accentuate it’.  We think she has this down to a fine art.

And here’s something to note –

The woman is always more significant than the clothes.”    Carine Roitfeld
