Cutie time

Care is always needed when looking after our cuticles and no more so than at this time.   Constant use of hand sanitiser over time can cause cuticles to slip into ‘dry mode’.   This we do not need.  A great way to to avoid this happening, is with a good cuticle oil that will keep them moisturised.  One easily accessible with proven success is Manicare’s Cuticle Therapy.

The organic formula absorbs quickly and there’s a brush for easy application.  Once applied, massage the oil into the nail bed as this will encourage blood flow and boost nail growth.

The formula contains natural apricot kernel oil, coconut oil, wheat germ and aloe vera extract – all rich ingredients that will help hydrate nails and cuticles.  If you’re using polish, allow the formula to sink in a bit before applying your base coat and colour.

Try to avoid:

  • Polish remover with acetone.
  • Cutting cuticles – a total ‘no, no’ –  it leads to infections and ultimately damage to the nail.
  • Excessive use of hand sanitiser.

For best results use every night, and where needed, push back the cuticle with an orange stick.   Remember the cuticle is made up primarily of skin, so moisturising is the way to keep them soft and healthy.
