The magnificent Alta Moda show hosted by Dolce & Gabbana in Florence last week, was a superbly orchestrated showcase of 189 creations as a tribute to the city’s history, art and timeless elegance. The designers’ vision captured the sophisticated style of the 1950s and early 1960s.
The parade was set in the glorious gardens of the Villa Bardini where models descended the baroque staircase as Florence glimmered below. The effect was enchantment and romance – totally dream worthy.
The collection was executed by 50 Dolce & Gabbana in-house artisans all aged under 30, exercising their unparalleled talents. The result was sumptuous chic.
And the magic didn’t just stay with the outfits. The dazzling fascinators were literally fascinating. Exquisite and divine. The jewellery simply superb. Shoes were flat (necessary for the stairs) and beautifully embellished. Bold lip colour balanced the glamorous look.
Note: Stock up on a bold lippy to be on trend – you my not need it now but you will post Covid when the masks come off! Flats will be shoe for you too!
