Arriving at The Kiln Houses tucked away in the glorious Ovens Valley of Victoria, is that moment when you cross the line between leaving the stresses of daily life behind to submit to the magic of this outstanding location amidst lush green fields at the foothills of Mt Buffalo.
You know when you’re there. The stunning driveways lead you to the uniquely designed accommodation referencing the tobacco kilns of the past. These uniquely designed houses combine contemporary clean edge without compromising comfort. They simply understand it, fitting easily into the environment – paying heed to its rural history.
There are three houses to choose from, each nestled in their own private fields, with walking distance separating each. Privacy is paramount. Peace in abundance.
Each design allows for maximum views of open green fields dotted with black Angus cattle. Turn another way and view the vineyard with a jaw dropping view of Mt Buffalo. Keep your blinds open for the sunset behind the mountain in the evening and gaze from your bed as the moody mist rises in the morning to reveal a stunning panorama and a vast blue sky adorned with fluffy clouds.
Here lies Australian independent holiday luxury at its very best. Extraordinary lengths have been gone to ensuring your comfort and needs are not left wanting.
The interior design is beautifully executed with meticulous detail. Nothing is compromised.
There is an abundance of places to visit from here, experiences and activities you won’t want to miss but be warned, it’s a challenge to move from those view filled windows, the crackling wood fire and the comfort of the generous rugs.
Note: We stayed in the Cavedons Kiln House and the rest of our party, The Chinamans Kiln House. For further details of the outstanding accommodation click here
