Two very special lectures are to be conducted by The Johnston Collection as a participant in the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Cultural Program Project Series 2016.  

The first lecture will be Recalling the Glamour | Collins Street’s Beautiful Boutiques  with Lesley Sharon Rosenthal on Wednesday 17 February 2016 from 10.00 am to 11.30 am.  Cost $20/$18

The Paris End of Collins Street

Collins Street Melbourne was Australia’s finest thoroughfare for fashion.  It’s specialty boutiques and famous Georges department store established it’s nationwide reputation.  Still today, Collins Street is home to Melbourne’s international and high end fashion labels and jewellery boutiques.

Writer and filmmaker, Lesley Sharon Rosenthal, invites you to recall the glamour of the times in what promises to be a thoroughly delightful and fascinating talk revealing Collins Street’s social history, its couturiers, designers and boutique owners and how they influenced fashion in the 20th century.

The second lecture will be A New Dress For Emma with Lise Rodgers on Thursday 18 February 2016 at 2.00 pm   Cost $20/$18
