There’s nothing like seeing fashion in real life to experience exquisite craftsmanship and creativity. The outstanding exhibition showcasing the Legend collection of Chinese couturier, Guo Pei currently on display at the National Gallery of Victoria, is in a class of its own.
Guo states: ‘Legends have always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration, unlocking my infinite imagination’. Romantic, spectacular, rich and exquisite, these designs will leave you breathless.
Created from fabric woven with metal fibre and silk thread, embroidered and bejeweled with stunning effect, there’s nothing pedestrian about this collection.
Guo Pei came to prominence in 2015 when Rihanna wore her canary-yellow, fur-trimmed gown to the annual gala at New York’s MET.
That same year she held her first solo exhibition at the MdAD in Paris. The rest – as they say – is history.

Fantasy and drama take center stage in this exhibition, bringing us a dazzling array of mind-blowing grandeur.
Yes, we see amazing gowns on the red-carpet, but few can compare to the ceremonial presence these creations project.
